Virginia Runoff Reduction Method
The Virginia Stormwater Management Program (VSMP) regulation requires use of the Virginia Runoff Reduction Method (VRRM) or another equivalent methodology approved by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for compliance with Part IIB water quality criteria (9VAC25-870-65). The Virginia Runoff Reduction Method: Instructions & Documentation and associated VRRM Excel spreadsheets have been revised. Designers and Plan Reviewers are encouraged to start using Version 3.0 beginning May 2, 2016.
- Guidance Memo No. 16-2001 -- Updated Virginia Runoff Reduction Method Compliance Spreadsheets - Version 3.0 with Attachment 1: Virginia Runoff Reduction Method Compliance Spreadsheet User’s Guide & Documentation (Version 3.0, April 2016) – The guide provides stepwise user instructions as well as a thorough explanation of the spreadsheet logic, equations, and reference information. Also available on the DEQ website (Guidance Number: 16-2001).
