Virginia Water Educators

This directory was assembled to strengthen and build the network of highly-trained educators throughout Virginia who support formal classroom teachers conducting successful Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs) at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. This online directory is the work of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and the Virginia Water Resources Research Center.

Find Water Educators

There are a number of different ways you can find water educators to connect with!

Visit Bay Backpack

Bay Backpack is an online resource that supports hands-on environmental learning. By providing educators with information about funding opportunities, field studies, and curriculum guides and lesson plans related to the Chesapeake Bay, Bay Backpack helps educators find the tools they need to give their students Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences, or MWEEs.

Visit Virginia Association for Environmental Education

VAEE is a network of environmental education professionals working collaboratively to advance Environmental and Sustainability Education in the Commonwealth. They do this by building environmental education capacity, supporting professional learning, increasing networking opportunities between educators, grant seeking, and sponsoring an annual professional learning institute. VAEE also serves as an advocate for environmental education and sustainability education through policy and legislation.
