2025 Virginia Water Monitoring Council (VWMC) Conference

The Water Center is supporting the 2025 VWMC Conference. The conference will be held at the Virginia Public Safety Training Facility (Knox Hall) in Hanover, Va. The conference runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 30, 2025. The program includes eight invited presentations on water monitoring and management. Presentations will include ways that citizen scientists are helping to monitor bacteria, algal blooms, and road salt in Virginia’s waterways. Talks will also discuss projects in stormwater management, stream restoration, and treatment of drinking water to remove PFAS. Presentation topics range from restoring habitat for mussels to the state’s groundwater monitoring program. Please contact vwmc@vt.edu if interested in sponsoring the conference. Applications are being accepted from full-time students for two scholarships that will be awarded to cover the registration fee for the conference.
