Lily Michaud was the 2019 Water Center Intern. For her internship, she attended the annual NIWR meeting, wrote about water policy and history in Texas, and visited Capitol Hill. Undergraduate Water Scholarships and Research Fellowships
Opportunities are available for undergraduate students enrolled in the Water: Resources, Policy, and Management (WRPM) B.S. program at Virginia Tech.

Undergraduate Internships at the Center
Undergraduate internship opportunities at the Water Center are year-round research opportunities typically for junior and senior level undergraduates at Virginia Tech. Each year, the Water Center recruits Virginia Tech undergraduates to assist with projects and participate in sponsored research directed by the center’s staff.
Students are paid hourly wages. The number of students and wage rates depend on the available resources. The Center typically supports one internship per academic year.

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) internships
This program provides undergraduate and graduate students with career-enhancing field, laboratory, and research experience through participation in USGS activities as interns. The program is available in selected states.
The Water Center facilitates these occasional internship opportunities for students at any Virginia college and university. When there are available internships at Virginia Tech, they will be listed here.
