Virginia Water Resources Research Center 2018 Student Grant Recipients

The Water Center’s annual Competitive Grants Program considers proposals for funding up to $5000 for student research grants.  Proposals are considered in all areas of water resources research from students enrolled in universities throughout the Commonwealth.  Two grants were awarded this year.

 

  • Sarah Busch, M.S. student, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Virginia Tech: “Evaluating mechanisms of opportunistic pathogen growth in low flow rate drinking water pipes”
  • Katie Krueger, M.S. student, Department of Geosciences, Virginia Tech: “Metal fluxes across the sediment water interface in a drinking water reservoir”
