Dr. Sample and Dr. Easton Recognized with UCOWR Career Awards

The Water Center would like to congratulate Dr. Zach Easton and Dr. David Sample for their recognition by University Council in Water Resources (UCOWR)!

Dr. Easton was selected for the UCOWR 2020 Mid-Career Award for Applied Research.  This award recognizes outstanding contributions in applied research related to water. Dr. Easton is in the Biological Systems Engineering Department at Virginia Tech and studies hydrology, water quality, and watershed modeling.  

Dr. Sample received the 2020 Mid-Career Award for Extension-Outreach-Engagement. This award recognizes outstanding contributions through Extension, Outreach, and Engagement activities related to water. Dr. Sample is in the Biological Systems Engineering Department at Virginia Tech and works on stormwater management, modeling, and design. 

Recipients will be recognized at the UCOWR Annual Conference, scheduled for June 2020, in Minneapolis, MN.

UCOWR is a consortium of academic institutions and affiliates invested in water resources research, education, and outreach. Their mission is to expand the capacity of universities and their partners to address current water resources challenges through sharing expertise, fostering leadership, and developing interdisciplinary collaborations.
