Research Assistant Liz Sharp honored with 2024 CNRE Outstanding Staff Award

Virginia Water Resources Research Center Research Assistant Liz Sharp was recently honored with the 2024 College of Natural Resources and Environment Outstanding Staff Award. This award is given to a staff member in CNRE who exemplifies outstanding performance in their job duties in service and support of their work unit, coupled with a collegial, positive, and professional manner.

In her role as a research assistant at the VWRRC, Liz has exhibited unparalleled dedication and excellence. Over the past year, her contributions have been nothing short of exceptional, from coordinating and supervising internship programs to spearheading VWRRC initiatives, including the annual student water photo contest and the inaugural VT Water Research Colloquium. Liz’s unwavering commitment to the undergraduate Water: Resources, Policy, and Management degree program and the Blue Planet pathways minor has been instrumental in their success, as evidenced by her meticulous attention to administrative details and her tireless efforts to enhance the programs for our students. 

Her remarkable ability to juggle multiple tasks with enthusiasm, efficiency, and a friendly demeanor is truly commendable. Liz’s invaluable contributions to the VWRRC website and communications and her role in developing a proposal for a new MS degree program in water resources exemplify her dedication to advancing our mission.
